Skytrax’s first global survey in the year 1999 to assess customer satisfaction at airports marked the beginning of the Skytrax World Airport Awards. Regarded as a quality benchmark in the aviation industry, Skytrax evaluates over 500 airports from around the world based on their services and facilities. The award-winning airports are voted for by travellers on indicators like arrival, comfort, check-in, and immigration.
DIAL has worked relentlessly to upgrade security, cleanliness, comfort, and staff services for flyers. This has resulted in a seamless and hassle-free airport journey and enhanced the overall customer experience. The Skytrax World Airport Awards held during the Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam rewarded these efforts and titled DIAL the Best Airport in India and South Asia. It was the fifth time in a row that Delhi Airport won this achievement. Delhi Airport last year stood at the 37th rank in the list of the World’s Top 100 Airports. This year in the 2022-23 world airport survey, its position stepped up to 36th place. DIAL is the only Indian airport to secure a rank in the World’s Top 50 Airports.
On this occasion, the CEO of Delhi International Airport, Mr Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, said: “It is the hard work and dedication of all the stakeholders which has helped Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) attain this unique feat. This acclamation by Skytrax reinforces DIAL’s commitment to constantly work towards bettering passenger experience while developing sustainable and environment-friendly infrastructure at Delhi Airport.”
Besides the immense feat of emerging as the best airport in India, Delhi Airport has yet again received the prestigious award for being the cleanest airport in India and South Asia region. Our attempts to maintain cleanliness and hygiene at the premises have been accolated by the customers flying via IGI airport.
